RoshiLoveDolls is a young, multi-brand companion doll retailer. We began building the business in early 2025 and welcomed our first customers that October.
As founders, we want to understand what someone needs before recommending what they should buy. That includes the budget they feel comfortable spending.
Getting closer to the products
Our team has spent about two years getting to know this industry, including attending two trade shows and making several factory visits. These visits give us opportunities to see products in person and speak directly with the people who make them.
That contact matters when a customer asks about a particular configuration. We have gone back to manufacturers with questions about available options, requested reference photos, and clarified which changes could or could not be made. This is part of how we build our product knowledge: learning enough to ask better questions, then bringing the answers back to the customer.
Different people need different choices
We respect the quality and reputation established brands have built. We also believe that a customer with a smaller budget deserves thoughtful guidance.
One person might already know exactly which sculpt they want, down to the makeup. For another person, the weight they can comfortably handle matters more. A familiar brand name can offer reassurance, but it does not tell us everything about what will suit the person considering it.
Those individual priorities are our starting point when considering products across different price points. We make room for newer makers, too. As a young business ourselves, we understand how much it means when someone gives an unfamiliar name a chance. We believe promising brands deserve the opportunity to earn recognition through products that meet a real customer need.
Staying involved after the purchase
One customer received the wrong wig with his order. We contacted the manufacturer to investigate and arranged for the correct replacements to be sent.
While that was being handled, he asked for help fitting the head securely. The package had arrived without installation instructions. We obtained an installation video from the manufacturer. He wrote back to say it had helped him understand how to fit the parts together correctly.
Later, he told us he had almost decided not to order because he could not find much about Roshi online. After that experience, he said he would recommend us to others.
We have also helped customers review factory photos before dispatch and kept them updated while their orders moved through international shipping. Sometimes the useful thing is an explanation: why a tracking number is not showing local movement yet, or what the next stage of the shipment will be.
As Roshi grows, we want to keep making time for that work.
If you are considering your first doll, or looking for something different from what you already own, tell us what matters to you and what you are unsure about.
